Brilliant² Rota-Slot Close-Up Lenses are mounted in a geared rotating tray for quick and easy alignment. They are equipped with our Rota-Lock to lock the lens rotation at the desired angle.
Created for deep focus cinematography, slot diopters are used to create dramatic shots with both near and far objects in sharp focus in a scene. Two lenses with cut edges are arranged with a “slot” of air between them. The slot edges of the lens are usually aligned with edges in the scene, such as a door frame. Aligning the cut edges of the glass with edges in the scene can hide the trick. Because our slot diopters are mounted in a geared rotating filter tray, the slots can be quickly aligned with appropriate elements in the scene and then locked in place with our Rota-Lock.
